Plasma levels of fibrin D-Dimer、fibrinogen and fibrin degradation products in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and their clinical significance

2002
Objectives To investigate changes of plasma fibrin D-Dimer(DD),fibrinogen(Fg) and fibrin degradation products(FDP) in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation(PAF) and to study their clinical significance. Methods Levels of plamsa DD,Fg and FDP were measured in 22 patients with PAF and 14 patients with sinus rhythm. Results Plasma DD level in PAF group was significant higher than that in sinus rhythm group(P0.05),but there were no significant differences(P0.05) between two groups in Fg or FDP.Conclusions There might be a prothrombotic state(PTS) in patients with PAF,and anticoagulant therapy may be indicated in PTS.
