Desenvolvimento da cultura do algodoeiro em diferentes populações de plantas

2021
The stand of plants is a very relevant factor for the productivity of the cotton crop. The experiment was installed at the Fazenda Divisao in Lucas do Rio Verde, MT, using the cultivar TMG 41 WideStrike, WS (resistant to caterpillars). A completely randomized experimental design with 6 treatments and 3 replicates was used. To reduce the costs of cotton cultivation, reducing seed quantity would be interesting, so this work tested the following populations: 6; 8; 10, 11, 12, and 15 seeds per linear meter (66,666, 88,888, 111,111, 122,222, 133,333, 166,666 plants per hectare), with spacing between rows of 90 centimeters. The cultural treatments were the same for all the plots. The plant height and stem diameter were also observed and the difference was significant in relation to the unequal plant populations. The higher the density, the higher the height and the smaller the stem width. The productivity results were different, but by the analysis of variance, the productivity was not affected by the plants population, therefore, with the smallest populations, 66.666 and 88.888 plaints per hectare, the productivity is similar and the cost is lower.
