Crystal structure of the molecular complex of 5,5′,12,12′-bis(triseleno)bis(naphthacene-6,11-quinone) with benzonitrile, (C18H8Se3O2)2(C6H5CN)

Abstract The structure of the (C 18 H 8 Se 3 O 2 ) 2 (C 6 H 5 CN) molecular complex isolated from the TSeT + HgI 2 reaction in benzonitrile has been determined. The -Se-Se-Se- fragment has been found to have SeSe bond lengths equal to 2.348(3) and 2.350(4) A.
