Method for adjusting and controlling brittle-ductile transition thickness of brittle material in real time

2014
The invention provides a method for adjusting and controlling brittle-ductile transition thickness of a brittle material in real time and belongs to the technical field of a material surface modification process. The method comprises the following steps: carrying out real-time selective modification on the surface of the brittle material by adopting plasmas with different ingredients and active particle concentrations; spraying the plasmas to the brittle material to enable active particles to adhere onto the surface of the material so as to reduce crystal cohesion and surface tension; enabling the active particles to permeate micro-cracks in the surface of the material to promote the further expansion of interstitial voids and internal cracks so as to promote the inside dislocation to move towards the surface to enable the surface to deform easily. According to the method, the plasmas continuously permeate the surface of the material to improve the performance of the surface of the material, so that he purpose of improving the surface plasticity and the brittle-ductile transition thickness of the brittle material is achieved.
