HUMAN HANDLING CHARACTERISTICS ON SHIP'S MOTION IN RESTRICTED CONDITION. IN: MARINE TECHNOLOGY IV

This paper considers the way to express human control of the steering rudder on ship motion in restricted waters. The study is explained using a ship maneuvering simulator in order to acquire the human characteristics of control on steering rudder and propeller revolution. The control laws on the deceleration of ship's speed are indicated. Lastly, by comparison of the results of numerical simulation applied, proposed human control laws with 1 of the simulator experiments, the accuracy of control laws and human characteristics are verified.
