Factors of fungemia infection in NICU and infection control

OBJECTIVE To analyze the infectious factor of Fungemia in NICU and investigate effective measures to control the infection prevalence.METHODS According to the cases of infection from 7th to 17th of Sep,2008,the infection factors,including clinical characteristics,pathogen test results and invasive treatment as well as primary basic diseases were analyzed,In order to control the widespread of Fungemia in hospital,multi-departments cooperation and emergency infection plan had been carried out.RESULTS Fungemia infection rate,mostly caused by C.parapsilosis,reached 5.43% in NICU at the corresponding time.The predisposing factors included premature,primary diseases,being immunocompromised,taking broad-spectrum antibiotics and receiving invasive treatment.After receiving proper treatment and measures,all the infected individuals had been cured.CONCLUSION The infection of fungemia in NICU is an outbreak within a limited area.Intensive monitoring,comprehensive analysis and preventive measures,as well as early empirical therapy can effectively control the further spread.
