The manuscript presents a possibility for application of coatings deposited by thermal spraying methods and working as interlayers in soldering process. Crucial problems occurring in aluminium-copper soldering process with potential solving are presented. Results of wettability and propagation of filler zinc with 4% wt. Al addition on sprayed Al, Zn, Ni95Al5 and Ni85Al15 coatings by Low Pressure Cold Spraying, flame and arc spraying methods and working as interlayers are shown. Finally an assessment of solder-ability of interlayers was conducted and metallographic analysis of dissimilar Al-Cu lap joints with deposited by LPCS method aluminium coating onto copper substrate is presented.
