Investigation of the periodontal status of members of the type 2 diabetic pedigrees

Objective To survey the periodontal of type 2 diabetes family members.Methods There were 732 people in 204 cases with type 2 diabetes family members,we tested their blood,we studied six representative teeth of every subjects.Results Compared with non-diabetic patients,gingivitis and mild,moderate and severe periodontitis prevalence of diabetic patients were higher,PD,AL and its number of missing teeth were higher(P 0.05).Compared with the good blood glucose control in diabetic patients,BI,AL of the poor glycemic control diabetic patients were higher(P 0.05).Conclusion We compare with the non-diabetic patients,the diabetic family members with diabetes have higher periodontitis prevalence,with a heavy degree of periodontal damage;we compare with the non-diabetic patients,blood glucose is well controlled patients with similar periodontal status.
