Dynamic left ventricular outflow obstruction experimentally induced
1966
Abstract In 15 unanesthetized dogs the administration of toxic doses of amphetamine resulted in the prompt appearance of a high degree of subvalvular and left ventricular outflow tract obstruction. Hemodynamic, angiocardiographic, and postmortem findings revealed striking similarities between the experimental model and the clinical disease idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis.
