Novel non-magnetic self-locking hinge applicable to space deployable structures

2013
The invention discloses a novel non-magnetic self-locking hinge applicable to space deployable structures. Working states of the hinge mainly include a folded state, an unfolded procedure and a completely unfolded state. The hinge comprises a male hinge, a female hinge, a tape spring, a hinge pin and a cable pulley assembly. Various parts and assemblies are made of nonmetal materials, so that the novel non-magnetic self-locking hinge has a non-magnetic characteristic. The tape spring is in a multilayer sheet overlaying form and is made of composite materials with high elastic deformation capacity, and strain energy stored in the tape spring when the tape spring is folded can be used as unfolding power of the tape spring, so that the hinge can be voluntarily unfolded after constraints are released. An opening cylindrical surface of the tape spring is properly configured, so that a self-locking function can be realized after the hinge is unfolded, and an unfolding impact reducing effect can be realized. The novel non-magnetic self-locking hinge has the advantages that a power function and the self-locking function are integrated, so that the complexity of the hinge can be greatly reduced, the novel non-magnetic self-locking hinge is simple in configuration, has the self-locking function and the non-magnetic characteristic, and has high application value in the aspect of the space deployable structures.
