Method for workflow visualization based on pipeline metaphor

To represent volume workflow data effectively,a visualization method based on three dimension pipeline metaphor is proposed.Firstly,features of runtime workflow data are discussed,and model of the procedure and relevant data is put forward.Then,an effective visual form specific to procedure data is proposed,data is mapped into a three-dimensional space,and workflow instances are presented in a high information density view.User interaction task set is discussed to provide natural interaction methods,uncover the hidden patterns in workflow data,and supports the utilization towards large quantities of workflow data.Finally,a case study is presented to verify the feasibility of the method.
