Observation on development of haemocytes in Boleophthalmus pectinirostris

2001
The blood, kidney and spleen of Boleophthalmeus pectinirostris were observed on stained smears. The results show that the development of B. pectinirostris haemocytes experiences 3 periods, which are primitive stage, immature stage and mature stage. The mother haemoblasts complete a process of maturation when flowing from the hematopoietic organs into the peripheral blood vessels. The morphological characters of the erythrocyte, neutrophil, lymphocyte and monocyte of B. pectinirostris are described at different development stages.
