Electrocrystallization of lead on the (111), (100) and (110) faces of copper

1974
Lead electrodeposited on copper single crystals was investigated by means of optical microscopy in order to study the mechanism of crystal growth. The depositions were carried out at various current densities from highly purified acid lead perchlorate baths. Spiral growth features about various configurations of screw dislocations were observed at low current densities on the Cu (111) plane. In certain current density ranges occasional square pyramids were observed on the Cu (100) plane and ridges on the Cu (110) plane.
