Politická kultura - teoretický koncept a výzkum*

The text deals with the history and the genesis of the term "political cul- ture". The author refers extensively to the book Civic Culture written by Almond and Verba as a classical theoretical and empirical study. Current studies, which fo- cus on defining post-communist regimes maintaining and developing democracies exploiting the term of political culture as a data organising concept, illustrate the topicality of the concept. Some examples of Czech surveys of political culture are briefly introduced. The text could serve as an introduction to the theoretical concept of political culture in the Czech sociological environment and in view of contempo- rary empirical research on political culture in the Czech society.
