Hierarchical Cluster based Data Aggregation with Fault Tolerance to extend Network Lifetime

2020
Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is composed of huge sensor nodes to sense the environmental data and communicate the same to the sink. These sensor nodes send the similar information to the sink node, which leads to the redundancy at the sink node; so it results in an increased energy consumption. As the sensor nodes battery power is minimal, power is wasted while eliminating the redundancy and thus shortens the network lifetime. To improve the lifetime of WSN, it requires data aggregation, which reduces the communication overhead. Data aggregation is a cost-efficient method to minimize the huge sensed data obtained in WSNs by eliminating the redundancy. In this paper, data aggregation using multiple sinks is proposed to improve the network lifetime.
