Non Tidal Gravity Variations and Geodynamic Processes

1995
The absolute gravity measurements may be used for the investigations of the different geodynamic processes. Now we have the newest gravimeters of GABL-M type (the mean-square error of the measurements of absolute value of gravitational acceleration is no more than 5 microgal and mean-square error of the measurements of gravity variations no more than 2 microgal), developed at the Institute of Automation and Electrometry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Arnautov et al., 1994). One cycle of measurements of the GABL-M gravimeters lasts for 10 seconds, with error being about 16 microgal. So the mean-square error of 2 microgal requires 60 single measurements (10 minutes of gravimeter’s work). The accuracy of our gravimeters was confirmed by the results of International comparisons of the absolute gravimeters in Paris (1977, 1981, 1985, 1989).
