Low-RCS Patch Antenna Based on Chessboard Structure

2020
In this paper, a novel low radar cross section (RCS) patch antenna is proposed. By changing the radiation patch, different cell structures are obtained. An effective reflection phase difference of 180°±30° is formed between the two elements, and they work in the same resonance mode and frequency band during radiation. Combining two units in the form of chessboard, the radar cross section (RCS) reduction is realized based on the principle of phase cancellation. The simulation results show that the RCS of the antenna in the working frequency band is reduced by more than 10 dB, the relative bandwidth is 6.9%, and the maximum reduction is 24.6dB.
