The objective is to identify theosteoarthritis risk factors of patients admitted to total knee or hip endoprosthesis. Patients and methodology: A research survey was conducted at an orthopedic department of a regional-type hospital among 150 respondents admitted to total knee endoprosthesis and 150 respondents to total hip endoprosthesis. A questionnaire for patients and a study of medical documentation ware research tools. Average BMI of patients with knee osteoarthritis was 30.78 and 29.78 for patients with hips osteoarthritis. Less than half of respondents indicated the incidence of osteoarthritis in the family history. 43% patients with knee osteoarthritis went through knee injuries even repetitive. 10% of the respondents had experienced infant dysplasia of the hip during childhood in the group of respondents with the OA hip. The other risk factors were hyperuricaemia, rheumatoid arthritis, long-term corticosteroid use, osteoporosis, spine, heavy physical work, and others.
