Construction of Left Fir Monoid Rings

Abstract Let α be an ordinal number. It is proved that there exists a monoid M with factorization depth τ( M ) = α and the monoid ring R [ M ]; over any skew field R is a left fir. Furthermore a method for constructing all monoids M such that R [ M ] is a left fir is given.
