Strength and Durability Study of CCM Mold Oscillation Mechanism in Different Operating Modes

The destruction of parts of the mold oscillation mechanism in the process of operation of the continuous casting machine is one of the causes of violation of the performance and safety of the oscillation mechanism, that is the ability to ensure the specified parameters of the oscillatory motion of the mold of a continuous casting machine within the required period. The estimation of static and dynamic strength (durability) of the parts of the mold oscillation mechanism in a wide range of operating modes allowed determining the rational operating modes from the condition of preventing their destruction. For the considered option of the mold oscillation mechanism design of the varietal continuous casting machine, the operating frequency of the oscillatory motion of the mold is 200 oscillations per minute, which provides almost unlimited durability of its parts. The developed method of strength and durability research can also be applied to other industrial machines and mechanisms.
