A experiment study on EMG and twitch muscle fiber structure in spasmodic muscle after superior cervical sympathectomy

2000
Objective\ To investigate the change of EMG and twitch muscle fiber in spasmodic muscle after sympathectomy.Methods\ Aspasmodic model 20 Wistar rats were established. The rats were divided into two groups: one group received superior cervical sympathectomy and the other group served as control .The F waves on musculsus triceps brachii of the rats in the two groups were tested by using the Dantec EMG device at 8th day after operation. The fast twitch muscle fibers and slow twitch muscle fibers in musculsus triceps brachii were examined by IBAS graph device at 20th day after sympathectomy.Results\ The amplitude of Fwaves and the fast twitch muscle fibers were decreased (P0.01), while the slow twitch muscle fibers increased from 0.25 mm to 0.05 mm (P0.01) after sympathectomy.Conclusion\ The excitability of spasmodic muscle was decreased after sympathectomy.\;
