The invention discloses a self calibration method of roundness and a measurement device thereof. The method comprises two methods, wherein in one method, a standard component is put on a swinging disk before measurement, and instrument calibration is carried out; in the other method, an object to be measured is firstly put at a center position and measured during measurement and then is put at the position of a deviated center D and measured again so as to complete the process of automatic calibration. The device in the invention comprises a counting sensor, a standard component, a swinging disk, a quality sensor, a bracket, a bottom plate, a conducting wire and a data processing and outputting system. The invention decreases a system error generated because of instrument destruction actually, and the measurement method is simple, convenient and quick and has high accuracy. The invention has very extensive application prospect in the fields of industrial production, scientific research, military application and the like.
