Analyzing the Perceived Effectiveness of Academic Leadership in Schools of Bahawalpur, Pakistan

The purpose of this study was to analyze the perceived effectiveness of academic leadership in schools of Bahawalpur (Pakistan). All the teachers teaching at secondary school level of private sector constituted the population of the study. Only 100 school teachers were selected as sample through simple random sampling technique. A self-developed structured questionnaire was used as research instrument for data collection. The quantitative research methodology has been used. Statistical tools i.e., mean standard deviation and percentage were used for the analysis of the data. After analysis of the data, it was concluded that that the academic leadership in schools is not as effective as it should be as per staff perception. Supervisors do not empower their teachers. Teachers are not motivated and not involved in decision making process. Teachers are not rewarded on showing excellent performance. Furthermore, they are not engaged in building ethical ambiance in school.
