Carcinoma adenoide quistico nasosinusal

2013
Sinonasal adenoid cycstic carcinoma is an uncommon tumour accounting for 10% of malignant tumours in the sinonasal zone. It is usually located in the maxillary sinus and is characterized by slow growth and capacity for perineural spread, which results in a high risk of recurrence and metastasis in other parts of the body. Today the most widely applied treatment for this carcinoma is surgical removal followed by radiotherapy. We present a case of a male patient who underwent a second operation for local recurrence two years after finishing treatment. We also review cases of sinonasal carcinomas with regard to the case in question.
