Summary Inhibition of shrimp pathogenic vibrios by mixture of probiotic strains A series of probiotic strain were challenged using an in vitro inhibition test with three pathogenic vibrios (Vibrio harveyi E22, V. vulnificus S2 and V. parahaemolyticus PA2) in order to confirm its antagonistic effect. The mixtures P63-Ili, P62-P64 and P62-P63-Ili presented a percentage of inhibition greater than 50%. This probiotic mixtures strain have potential applications to control shrimp pathogenic vibrios in aquaculture systems.
