Tunable light-frequency comb based on dual-mode square micro-cavity laser

2015
The invention discloses a tunable light-frequency comb based on a dual-mode square micro-cavity laser. The tunable light-frequency comb comprises the dual-mode square micro-cavity laser used for generating dual-mode lasers with adjustable spacing, an optical fiber amplifier used for amplifying an optical signal, and a high non-linear optical fiber for broadening cascaded four-wave mixing effect, thereby obtaining the light-frequency comb. The dual-mode square micro-cavity laser comprises a substrate, a square micro-cavity, an output waveguide, an electricity injection window and p-type and n-type electrodes; the electricity injection window is formed in the top of the square micro-cavity; and a non-injection area is covered by a medium layer. The realization scheme of the dual-mode square micro-cavity laser with adjustable spacing is simple in structure; the tunable light-frequency comb with stable frequency intervals is obtained by broadening of the cascaded four-wave mixing effect in the non-linear optical fiber based on the laser.
