Effect of Suction on the Stability of the Supersonic Laminar Boundary Layer. A Numerical Study.

1996
A numerical study is presented, which consists of boundary- layer computations and of transition predictions based on linear stability theory and the eN-method. It shows the potential of boundary-layer suction for delaying laminar/turbulent transition in the supersonic flow regime, and hence for reducing the friction drag.
