A study on thermal behaviour prediction for automotive electronic unit based on CFD

This paper relates to a study for thermal behaviour prediction regarding automotive electric relay based on CFD. According to electronization for car, many electric units such as automotive relay which have thermal sources are mounted in vehicle and some heated units are broken down in operation. Recently, most engineers always have been tried to rapidly predict thermal phenomena to remove serious thermal issues. That’s why, accurate thermal analysis based on CAE/CFD is much more important regarding automotive business. This study has been considered many inner structures in order to optimize relay structure based on CAE/CFD. We have compared and analyzed each result between CFD result and temperature measuring data for real product in order to derive optimized inner thermal structure regarding relay. Finally, it is considered possibility to accurately predict thermal phenomena for automotive relay based on each inner structure.
