Study of a Model of Nervousness Propagation Within Virtual Crowds
2021
Crowd dynamics has been of a great interest in the last decades, notably to understand and prevent emergency situations. In this field, computer simulations have a big part, due to the difficulty of making real life experiments. Many models have been created, at a macroscopic level as well as at a microscopic level, but emotional dimensions are rarely taken into account within the crowd. In this work, we start from the well-known Helbing’s model, which already involves a nervousness component, originally based on the individual kinetics of agents only. We propose to adapt this model to include a nervousness propagation mechanism. We study its impact on a classical simulation setup.
