Doppler-broadened quantum electromagnetically-induced-transparency heat engines

2021
The authors study the effect of Doppler broadening on a quantum heat engine based on electromagnetically induced transparency which has recently been suggested and demonstrated with ultracold atoms. They show that ``warm'' atoms can still be used as a coherent quantum working medium, which suggests the possibility of a simpler and more convenient implementation than previous realizations with ultracold atoms.
