Light emitting means

A light emitting device in which high directivity can be achieved with no cavity and disconnection, deformation of an electrode portion and generation of bubbles are minimized. The light emitting device comprises a wiring board, an LED connected electrically with the wiring board, and a glass covering the LED. Entirety of the glass is substantially spherical and the LED is fitted to a portion of the glass. Curved surface of the glass is preferably touching the side face of the LED and the LED is preferably a polygonal semiconductor chip having a center of rotation in the plan view.
