EXAFS and XANES investigation of the structural and electronic changes induced by hydrogen absorption in CeRu2 and CeFe2

Abstract The change in the local structure and electronic configuration in CeFe 2 and CeRu 2 after hydridation have been studied by EXAFS and XANES spectroscopies. Hydridation originate the amorphization of the Ce sublattice and the localization of the 4f electrons in Ce and 3d electrons in iron.
