A method of operating a workpiece handling system, and workpiece processing system

The invention relates to a method for operating a workpiece handling system (10) in which a tool is rotated at least, at least one variable is detected in which of a sensor device having a vibration (at least in a region of the workpiece processing system during rotation of the tool 10 ) characterized and wherein the at least one detected variable is evaluated. It is proposed that it comprises the following steps: in a first mode of operation: (a) driving a tool of the workpiece machining apparatus (10) at different speeds; (B) during step a: detecting the magnitude at the different speeds of the tool; (C) evaluating the size detected by means of a vibration analysis, and (d) in a second operating mode: driving the tool for machining a workpiece depending on the result of the evaluation in step c.
