Simulation of Dispersion Tolerant Long-Haul Optical Fiber Communication Systems with Distributed In-Line Group-Delay Equalizers

In ultra long span optical fiber communication systems with erbium doped fiber amplifiers, degradation of the system performance due to both the fiber dispersion and the nonlinearity becomes dominant. In this paper, optical communcation systems with distributed in-line group-delay equalizers are analyzed detailedly, as candidates to solve the problem mentioned above. The computer simulation shows that the system can suppress the four-wave mixing and the accumulation of the interaction between the fiber dispersion and the nonlinearity
