Electron density measurements in the Indian equatorial region during daytime conditions
1998
Abstract The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has collected long-term rocket and ground-based measurements over Sriharicota Range (SHAR) to define reference profiles for various conditions. Absolute density profiles of Resonance Cone measurements are in good agreement with these standard reference profiles, except that the latter one overestimates the density values. The relative density profiles of identical Langmuir Probes show different features depending on their corresponding orientation. Calibration can not be accomplished by one constant calibration factor, but requires to consider the characteristic influence of the floating potential. Height-dependant calibration is suggested for the low altitude range (
