An Algorithm for Resisting WiFi Interference in ZigBee

By analyzing the interference detection and avoidance technology, we find most detection approaches, only according to received signal strength indicator or packet error rate (PER) judge whether the network is interfered by WiFi, which however is not accurate. Therefore, an interference detection approach based on link quality indication and packet error rate(PER) is presented in this paper, which makes a judgment about whether there is WiFi interference according to node's packet error rate, percentage of nodes with packet error rate, link quality and received signal strength indicator. On this basis, an interference avoidance algorithm is introduced based on multi-channel detection, which adopts scanning mode when selecting a channel, in order to find a suitable one. Simulation results indicate that this algorithm can effectively reduce packet error rate.
