System and method for positioning power distribution network terminal failures

2012
A system for positioning power distribution network terminal failures comprises a primary transformer, secondary transformers subordinate to the primary transformer, a data acquisition unit, a data processing unit, a central information processing unit and a wireless communication unit. A method for positioning the power distribution network terminal failures includes the specific steps: 1) acquiring voltage and current values of the primary transformer; 2) judging whether fluctuations of the acquired voltage and current values exceed preset threshold values or not; 3) sending alarm information of the primary transformer to a monitoring center computer, wherein the alarm information comprises a physical address of the primary transformer; and 4) positioning failure positions of the secondary transformers subordinate to the primary transformer and branches, and sending the failure positions to the monitoring center computer. Operation states of power distribution network terminals can be monitored timely and effectively and sent to a monitoring center in real time, and thereby the system and the method can be widely applied to increasingly complex power distribution networks to shorten failure time and reduce economic losses caused by the failures.
