Clearance cairns and the nature of human impact during the Late Bronze Age - Early Iron Age in southern Sweden

A claim is made that the model of expansion/regression is anachronistic since it is impossible to compare the different agrarian systems of fields and landscape use in such terms. Theories of expansions and regressions in the cultural landscape are traditionally based primarily on pollen analysis, whereas the interpretations presented here are based on archaeological evidence.
