This base station device includes: a frame generation unit for generating a first training frame to be used in received beam training from among the frames to be used in beamforming training; a beam control unit for setting the beam to be used in the transmission of the first training frame as omnidirectional; a transmission unit for transmitting the first training frame by using MCS having the lowest rate stipulated by IEEE802.11; a receiving unit for receiving a first response frame and a second response frame from the wireless terminal device that received the first training frame, after a fixed interval has elapsed from transmission of the first training frame; and a frame determination unit for determining whether or not the received first response frame is a response to the received beam training. Furthermore, when the received first response frame is a response to the received beam training, the beam control unit sets the beam received by the receiving unit as a directional beam, and the receiving unit receives the second response frame using the directional beam.
