The Effects of NMDA Antagonists on Intracranial Pressure in a Model of Acute Subdural Haematoma in the Rat
1993
NMDA antagonists have demonstrated neuroprotective efficacy in reducing focal cerebral ischaemic damage in many laboratory studies [1, 4, 6]. Patients with high intracranial pressure (ICP) due to head injury, stroke and subarachnoid haemorrhage are likely to be among the first candidates for these drugs, yet their effects on ICP are unknown.
