Performance evaluation of a PV system operating in a coastal city of the Southeastern Brazilian region

The Brazilian coast, especially the Baixada Santista Metropolitan Region (RMBS) located in Sao Paulo/Brazil, is in great demand for social, economic, and environmental development. PV solar energy appears as one of the critical solutions to increasing job opportunities and reducing energy vulnerability. The present work presents the performance evaluation of a small PV power system installed in Santos (RMBS). The typical weather and atmospheric conditions in Santos are distinct from those used for PV module certification. The main achieved results are: a) there is a linear relationship between the ambient and PV system operating temperatures; b) The installed system demonstrates a good PR and CF data comparable to the literature; c) the temperature difference between atmosphere and PV system achieved 15°C in hot cloudless days.
