HIGH-ENERGY CROSS SECTIONS AND THE CHEW-FRAUTSCHI PARTICLE

1962
The theoretical discovery of anti-particles is outlined, and their properties and behavior are briefly discussed. The experimental discovery (particularly the problems therein) of p at Berkeley is reviewed as well as expernments performed on p-p scattering and annihilation, and the theory devised to explain the experimental results. Use of annihilation to study meson ( pi ) interaction is also outlined, and the existence of antimatter in the cosmos is shown to be possible. (D.C.W.)
