CODAS – A LARGE SCALE MULTICOMPUTER CONTROL SYSTEM FOR THE JET PROJECT

Abstract The CO ntrol and D ata A cquisition S ystem (CODAS) for JET has been fully operational since the first plasma pulse in June 1983. Since then increasing automation of all operations has taken place for both machine control, data acquisition, analysis and display. This paper gives a brief description of the distributed and hierarchical nature of the system, and then concentrates on its present operation for control of the JET machine.
