Deep-water coral structure on the Campbell Plateau, New Zealand

1965
Abstract A deep-water coral structure defined by bathymetry and samplings of fauma, is recorded from the Campbell Plateau, east of Auckland Island, from a depth of 320 m. This is the first known occurrence of deep-water coral architecture in the Pacific Ocean. Several other possible coral structures from the southern side of the Chatham Rise, New Zealand, are also briefly described.
