The Total Cost of Ownership of a Medical Gas Source – A Case Study for the Czech Republic
2019
Operating rooms and intensive care units require the availability of medical gases. In clinical practice, it is possible to find several technologically very different solutions for gas distribution - pressure cylinders, medical gas source, etc. The cost of medical oxygen represents a considerable part of the finance for the operation of the department. The aim of this work is to use the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methodology to determine the total costs of different technologies of production and distribution of medical oxygen for two different types of medical facilities.
