X-Ray Diffraction Studies of Austenite Stainless Steel Samples

2013
X-ray diffraction measurements have been performed on austenite stain-less steel samples which exhibit structural and magnetic phase transitions. The electronic band structures of stainless steel samples with face-and body-centered cubic structures have been computed by the Korringa-KohnRostoker (KKR) Green function method with the coherent potential approximation (CPA). It is found that the KKR-CPA band calculation gives a good explanation of the structural and magnetic phase transition of these stainless steel samples.
