A Model Representation Framework for Biodiversity Descriptors in a Cultivation Area

2017
In recent decades, human activities have greatly operated on land use and land cover. This becomes a major challenge for restoring worldwide environment using agriculture approach taking into account local biodiversity. In this international trend, the European Union (EU) set ups the biodiversity strategy from 2011 toward 2020. For a parallel trend in the past years, biodiversity-based cultivation methods efficiently enhanced ecosystem services. In this paper, we formally introduce a representation of context-aware biodiversity descriptors to enhance cultivation practice in medium and small farm ecosystems. To connect this research study to our on-going research, we aim at facilitating the tuning of our MyPoC service for farmers using the local knowledge of context-aware biodiversity descriptors. These descriptors are integrated in our model called warncons and integated in our MyPoC service to capture observations for precision agriculture. Finally, we discuss the future directions.
