A Review on Papers of Clinic Trials Published on Chinese Journal of Psychiatry

Objective: To review the papers of psychiatrical clinic trials published on Chinese Journal of Psychiatry in recent ten years. Methods: All articles published from year 1996 to 2005 on this journal were retrospectively evaluated by statistical and epidemiologic method. Results: A total of 126 papers on psychiatrical drugs’ outcomes (11.3% of all articles) were published. The trials with large sample size were only 20.6%. Most subjects involved were schizophrenia (50.0%) and emotional handicap (26.2%) patients. Double-mask radomized control trials were only 23.1%. Some of papaers were lack of standard descriptions for dianosis (17.7%) or curative effects. Conclusion: Psychiatrical clinic trials should be designed according to the GCP protocols with large sample size. The criterions for diagnosis and curative effect should be listed in the articles.
