Studying a heterogeneous material based on epoxy oligomer filled with silica by microindentation

In this paper the mechanical properties of Primer 204 epoxy resin with silicon dioxide nanoparticles with a volume content of 2 %, 4 %, 6 %, 8 % and 20 % are studied by means of a TI 950 Hysitron NanoTriboindenter nanomechanical complex. The processed experimental data has demonstrated that the test material exhibits viscosity properties at the micro level, manifested in the existence of the creep and stress relaxation phenomena. Load, loading time, hold time and applied displacement have a significant effect on the behavior of the material.
