재택·순회교육을 받는 장애 고등학생의 학부모와 재택·순회교육을 담당하는 특수교사의 경험과 인식에 관한 질적 연구

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the experiences and perceptions of parents and special educators of high school students with disabilities who receive home-based itinerant education (HIE). Method: Participants were 6 parents of high school students with disabilities receiving HIE in Seoul, and 5 special educators who had experience of HIE. Purposive and snowball sampling was used to select the participants. In-depth individual interviews were conducted using semi-structured interview questions developed by the authors. The collected data were analyzed by an interpretative phenomenological analysis focusing on exploring the nature of the particular group phenomena and experiences. Results: Six themes and 17 sub-themes emerged from data analysis. The themes were the beginning of HIE, the background factors of HIE, HIE classes, the relationship between parents and teachers, satisfaction and limitation of HIE, and the solutions for the issues in HIE. Conclusion: The significance of this study is that it examined the issues related to high school students receiving HIE who were preparing for adulthood and highlighted the HIE in detail by integrating the viewpoints of parents and special educators.
